DTF Transfer Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep: Set your heat press to 300-320°F (150-160°C) and pre-press your garment for 5-10 seconds to remove wrinkles and moisture.
2. Position Transfer: Place the DTF transfer (smooth side up) onto the garment where you want the design, ensuring it's flat and aligned. Use heat-resistant tape to secure it if needed, especially on hats or seams.
3. First Press: Cover with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet. Press with medium-to-firm pressure for 10 seconds.
4. Peel: Let the transfer cool to a warm or cool state (depending on if it's a hot or cold peel transfer) and peel the carrier sheet away slowly from a corner.
5. Second Press (Crucial): Cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and press again for 5 seconds to fully cure and set the print into the fabric.
6. Care: Wait 24 hours before washing and always wash inside out on a low spin cycle with cold water. Use a gentle, non-bleach detergent; avoid fabric softeners.
Suggested Industry Standard Design Sizes
The image below is a helpful guide for commonly used DTF transfer sizes on shirts, hats, sleeves, legs, left chest designs, youth apparel, and toddler items. These measurements are suggested industry standard sizes and are meant to help you choose the best size for your project.
Because every shirt, hoodie, hat, and garment style can fit differently, it is always a good idea to measure the item before placing your order. The final look may vary depending on the garment size, placement, and personal preference.
Need a custom size? No problem. Designs can be sized smaller or larger, up to the maximum print area available. Please double-check your measurements before ordering to make sure your transfer fits the way you want.
